Behind the Concept
The starting point was a simple but uncomfortable question — what does love actually look like when it falls apart? Not the cinematic version, but the real one: the obsessive loops, the self-destruction, the bargaining. The show maps directly onto the psychological stages of grief and loss, using Depeche Mode's catalog as the emotional backbone — a body of work already fluent in desire, darkness, and longing. Removing actors from the stage was a deliberate choice: the story lives inside the person experiencing it, not on a stage. The film carried the narrative. The live band carried the feeling. The audience sat in the dark and filled in the rest themselves. In Romania, this kind of fully integrated live concert-film format had never been done at this scale before.
